In the spirit of the 4th of July, We Love Ireland Spotlights a town with strong American ties. New Ross in County Wexford, the birthplace of John F Kennedy's great-grandfather. The President visited the town in 1963 meeting with family and speaking to the people of the town. The Kennedy Homestead is now a popular visitor attraction and displays many signifiant items that belonged to the former president.

There will never be any president like John F. Kennedy. As great as he was a US president, his Irish ancestry, in New Ross starting with his great grandfather Patrick Kennedy, was just as great.
