Agios Stylianos is not a nunnery. It was and still is an orphanage located in the centre of Thessaloniki. It used to be a philanthropic institution under the Greek Orthodox Church till 1938 but then was converted into a State one.During the occupation many gave their children to the orphanages when they realised that, because of the dramatic lack of food, they were unable to raise them. So that is probably why mr Stathakis thought it would be best for you to be in that orphanage.
