First time modding on PC and I have no clue what I’m doing. So far this video series has been a huge help. Unfortunately, I don’t have Tools under data in mo2. What should I do?

This guide has been helpful as I've gotten back into Skyrim and decide go deeper into moding and therefore rebuild my list as well as decided to swap from Vortex to MO2 even before this video. I think it would be good to do an update of the setup guide since it seems some things have changed due to mod updates and the game updating itself. If you do maybe have a 2 part for the animation engine, one where you do nemesis and one where you do FNIS.

Whilst it's a really impressive engine and I can't wait to ditch FNIS completely, I don't think Nemesis will ever be finished, it's not been updated since 2021 it also has no creature behavior. I check everyday for updates so I can start using new animations, but I don't see it being updated anytime soon and I'm not going to hold my breath either.

I'm genuinely curious about why some people say that fnis is better than nemesis. I'd picked up nemesis when I got back into modding a couple years ago and never encountered any problems besides user error, and have yet to find a mod that was incompatible with nemesis. What am I missing here? From what I could tell, it looked like a straight upgrade to fnis.

When switching to nemesis, all my custom animations were janky and some outright didnt work. FNIS will be king for quite awhile

Just some questions here:

Why are you manually downloading everything, instead of using the "Mod Manager" download option? I started with Vortex, and found that to be really helpful when using that option on NexusMods. Seemed to just "skip the step" of having to drag everything.

But then, got too many mods, and found that Vortex doesn't work well with huge mod lists, so have been going through your tutorials on modding skyrim in general, and following each step to get MO2 set up.

Everything has been relatively clear so far. It's been a huge help, so thank you so much for that. But:

I originally got lost in the FNIS part of your tutorial because I didn't realize you had manually downloaded them. I watched it back and you didn't say whether you had manually downloaded, or done the mod manager download. Would have helped if you stated that, and also explained "why". You're usually very clear on things but that one seemed "glossed over".

Took me a couple of re watches but excellent explanation as always defiantly cant wait for a nemesis one if and when !! one question iv ran the generateFNIS for users is popped up with the program requires steam do I have to log in or can I continue without it?

I need some serious help. I know this over a year old but I've tried nemesis and had nothing but issues when I tried your current guides now I'm trying fnis but I did everything you did and I'm only getting 94 animations in fnis and you have over 250 also mines not recognizing xpme as a mod

Hi! First of all thank you so much for these tutorials! Just a question: Why did you use the manual option to download the racemenu? Does the "download with manager" option not work in this case? Thanks! :)

Since this is more a question than feedback I decided to do a different comment. If installing Nemesis at this point instead of FNIS would you still update and run the engine even if the only things you have downloaded are the content picker, loot, and now Nemesis would you still update the nemesis engine and run it?

Overall pretty great tutorial! Dropping the FNIS folders doesn't work though, it won't let me drop and download the files. I also went and copied them into the download folder through file explorer, hit refresh in mid manager, and they still didn't show up

I apologize for another question, obviously I've been seriously procrastinating modding my game but I noticed that when you downloaded the three FNIS mods one was a compressed 7zip and the others wre 7zip folders, while mine are 7zip archives, did I download them differently? They appeared to be the same version on NMM. I may be over thinking this. On the description page of the mod it just says to install it and then go to your skyrim game directory then data then tools to find generate FNIS for users. It doesn't say anything about extracting. Should I just move the archives into MO2?
