I think this shows us that you become who you use as the ritual.

I think that the ritual she finds there is the same one Sidious tries to use, he does want to be striked down and killed, that goes against everything he wanted with plagueis. Furthermore tenebrous does possess plagueis after being struck down and looks into the future and sees plagueis's death.

The same cloning facilities there would have some kinda defection, the Sith Lord previous to the main character would have used these to create the malformed being she encounters, thinking that would be enough and then turned into it just like she did. This would be because of the energy they are absorbing.

This probably occurred between 2000 and 1100 BBY, I suspect. In time, we may see.
