Double-edged: Greater variety of attacks
Curved: Greater cutting power
Straight: More straightforward to thrust with… literally

Can u please talk about the edges of the long swords, in most cases they were A symmetrical, one side would be thinner to slide better and the other side thicker to handle combat better, massive thanks for the time and dedication in your video's, learning the names, history and proper execution of techniques I have figured out on my own is amazing, peace be with you✌
