Testing a Cornell Romany 12 with my Pearlvibe tele, the LAVACASTER.
Is the Tweed Deluxe 5E3 really that great and can the Cornell handmade copy compare?
I"ll be comparing clean spanky country tones with the added (hot boost feature) sweet organic crunch and distortion. The Lavacaster has a unique 12 way switching giving you the basic tones plus 5 series and 4 parallel tones and it will put the Cornell through its paces. I will only be using a bit of compression and delay.....no pedals or secrets, at all.
I recorded with a simple old Sure mike to an analog recorder, LIVE,......the synchronizing is a bit hairy, second song had 4 guitar tracks, but be assured.....the recordings were live and spontaneous. The switching of pickups was also live and on the fly...sometimes there were mistakes. The Pearlvibe LAVACASTER is all handmade, genuine abalone tops and flamed maple back with 7 airbrush tone burst .Very light ash body, grade AAAA flamed maple neck, handwound pups and 12 way switching.
Enjoy the happy noise!

Congratulations Haensel! Delighted to see and hear you through that Cornell. Genuinely, it’s sounding fab! Nice picking by the way. And that lovely guitar seems to cover a lot of ground. Happy playing Haensel 😊👍

I love this amp but it’s based on the Tweed Princeton 5f2A and not the Deluxe 5e3 (I have both).

The Cornell has upgraded transformers and other tweaks compared to the original Princeton (and of course, reverb and a 12in speaker in this model).

Sounds killer, thanks for sharing.

I've owned this amp for about five years. Might be my favorite amp of all time. To me, it's far from a tweed Deluxe. With the EQ out it sounds more like a tweed Super than a Deluxe. Either way, with the EQ is can go from tweed to beautiful blackface tones.
