In this Microsoft Excel tutorial we will learn the basics of programming in Visual Basic for Excel. By the end of this tutorial, you will have a good understanding of how to use the macro recorder to automate repetitive tasks, write your own code in the VBA editor, and create event-driven macros. We will begin by opening up Excel and recording a simple macro, and then we will explore the code that was generated by the macro recorder. From there, we will move on to writing our own code in the VBA editor, starting with a basic message box and then moving on to more complex macros that are triggered by worksheet and workbook events. By the end of this tutorial, you will have the tools you need to start automating tasks in Excel with code.

Thank you, Richard Rost for the solid you did for me when I purchased a beginner course on your website, 599cd. You are good people. Hats off, and a standing ovation is sent your way, friend!

Oh Richard Rost (Teacher), thank you for showing me how to activate VBA - it actually changed my whole office suite: it added "Developer" tab to all Office applications (I use Office 2007). Your help is changing my work...

Hey, this is great stuff. I work with Excel but not at one time I did things with macros. This video is a head start for me and I would love to watch more of it, especially doing stuff with excel vba. Thanks.

Richard Rost - I just came across your channel on YouTube and you have many great videos! I am new to Access and have a basic knowledge of VBA. What I want to do is create an interface (form?) in Access our Sales folks would use with pulldown lists, check boxes, radio buttons and fill-in fields, which on the back end would issue SQL queries to several DBs which are in MS SQL Server which I connected to Access. Based on what the salesperson entered, SQL queries in the back end would be issued and results shown in an easy-to-read report in Access.
So I know I have a good number of videos of yours to examine. Where do I begin? Thanks!

I'm in trouble, 45 years ago "Hello World" wasn't my first programming project

Excel is so dated. When was it first released? Early 1990s?? Pity MS can't come up with a more modern program that is more intuitive to use.
