'Adapting Cities for Climate Resilience' - The Penang Nature-Based Climate Adaptation Programme

Did you know that there's an 8 degree difference in temperature in the urban parts of Penang compared to other parts of the island? What does this mean for the rest of Malaysia?

In keeping with this year's World Cities Day theme of 'Adapting Cities for Climate Resilience', we're sharing findings and strategies from the Penang Nature-Based Climate Adaptation Programme, a pilot project in collaboration with Penang City Council, the Department of Irrigation and Drainage and UN-Habitat. The first of Malaysia's climate adaptation programmes, the project has been endorsed by the World Bank Adaptation Fund.
