Storm shelters are never a wasted investment for you (& your family’s) safety! I feel like we need to make them more accessible, affordable, and available to tornado prone areas. We waste $$ on so many stupid things in this country but this is not one of those. People simply can’t afford them and I wish that would change.

Make sure you have proper ventilation. And buy some lamps, water, and some big ammo crates because they can insure that your equipment is safe from decay and water damage.

And another thing you should do is use waterproofing paint and don’t forget to use primer so it can be more effective.

Carpet scrap for the floor and walls. Glow in the dark paint on the ceiling for stars. Recliner for comfortable seating and sleeping

As an Alabamian we had a tornado in 2011 and it absolutely destroyed everything (including my house) so having a storm shelter is a must have!

I recently installed a storm shelter in my basement over the winter. 3 weeks ago we had a tornado pass by only 1/4 mile away. We didn’t have power, cell signal, or internet for nearly a week due to the infrastructure it had taken down. My family felt safe and that’s the most important.

Blanket, chair, portable charger, case of water, maybe an MRE or 2, mini projector you already have a blank wall might as well use it, small lamp, maybe a fan idk if it gets hot, could put a lego set in there to pass the time 🤷 and a fold out little table is what i would have in there
