All I can say is I wonder how these sales people sleep at night knowing they have rooked in thousands of people into a timeshare. When they say it's an investment, that's a lie. It's a liability, that gets more expensive every year

Thank you for this video a Guy at Bass pro got me convinced buy the $169 3 night 4-day package I agreed to it and he told me a little bit about timeshare and I thought well we need to start investing for retirement anyway so it wouldn't hurt to listen to it and I knew that I would have time to research all this before I went on this vacation supposed to go this weekend and I'm definitely very thankful for all the videos people have made about these ridiculous people. No timeshare for me. If you have something good to sell you don't have to force people to buy.

JUST. WALK. OUT! Human psychology is a helluva thing! You basically had the Scientology recruitment pressure method used on you. It's basic cult recruitment tactics. But you just needed to WALK OUT!

They sound like a bunch of scumbags to me. Thank you for the warning. I just got a call and am glad I was able to get them to hang up eventually. I denied having a credit/debit card and the person eventually said that I don't qualify. :-)

I feel your pain. My wife and I got scammed years ago by a timeshare. Definitely not worth it, even for a free gift.

We attended a blue green timeshare presentation in June at their Williamsburg VA property. I feel we were fortunate that we were held hostage for only 2 1/2 hours - most likely because I was pretty vocal in expressing my incredulity at the hefty yearly maintenance fee as well as the 16 percent interest rate charged to finance one of their packages. I think they were glad to be rid of us. I will say we went to the presentation with the conviction we would not take the bait and we held fast to that.

You sign, therefore you are under contract.
We went bluegreen to purchase a did not sign anything. We kept saying NO NO NO. WE left with our free cruise gift. And no contract.

Their tactic is to start off with a very high price, in fact it's usually twice the initial price. This is to feel you out and see how you react. The TO (takeover) will do the drops, again by design. The TO is a senior salesperson or manager and it's to try and convey the message that now your talking to someone who will take you serious to help close the deal. Again, all by design.

Thanks
for taking the time to share your story. We are in the same situation, and have
experienced similar tactics. We hope this warning helps others

First of all, the so-called “free gift“ isn’t free at all. Second of all, I’ve never heard anyone say that the 60 minute presentation last for 60 minutes. It’s more like seven hours. And third, it’s very easy for them to discount something they claim has a $40, 000 price tag down to 5 or $6000 because they’re doing nothing more than selling you a piece of paper which is worthless and lying to you about it.

First mistake... You believed their promises.

My wife and I just signed a contract in Tennessee and the next day we both regretted it. So we wrote a rescinding letter per the 10 day law in Tennessee and went to the post office to have it certified and right away the person in the post office asked us if it was a rescinding letter for a timeshare and we said yes and he said people come in all the time for this!! He was a great help told me exactly what to do

At that point, I wouldn't even care what it did to my credit, I'd just default on it and let them send it to collections. Then you can settle for pennies to the dollar with collection agency.

Maintaince fees aren't worth it. We have been members for a while and we have had fun at many of the properties. We could do that on our own for cheaper though. I will never go to another meeting again. The higher point properties are maintained better. So the lower point people are technically paying for the higher point people.

I won’t buy a timeshare even for a dollar. Maintenance (increasing yearly) fee is for eternity.

I've been a Bluegreen "member" for several years, it has become a big waste of money, don't do it! The thing is that the high pressure salesmen have found thousands of new suckers and they have added very few new resorts over the years. So, all of the resorts are way over booked all of the time. Most of resorts don't have an opening for ten months or longer. Just try booking a week in Charleston SC or Williamsburg VA actually almost any of the resorts on less then a years notice "ain't gonna happen". Unless you like Wisconsin in January. Please, if you drop the soap in the shower DO NOT pick it up because Bluegreen will be right "behind" you with a little surprise!
