SPL PQ EQ Hardware VS Plugin Comparison

In this video I review the SPL PQ EQ and how well it compares to the plugin emulation. A direct comparison between the two will tell us which is best and how much difference there is between them.

All the magic is in the low end of the hardware. It thumps nicely with so much feeling and energy and you can feel the decay of the kick drum much better whereas the plug-in has a flat low end that’s consistent but not very exciting or as large.

Its not a massive difference but for sure there is a difference.

The imaging is more transparent in the hardware than the plugin, but I guess that’s the distinction between digital soundscape and the analog one.

I make similar tests but lie about which one is analog. Most people keep saying BS abput how "analog" is warmer etc. They're boomers and cant hear sh... above 10k hz anyway.

hardware. listening from my monitors. and sub its sounds 3D and whole the plugin sounds flat and loses it depth thats why i rather hybrid approach i can never accept full ITB only not saying it sounds. bad but its just sounds different it cannot recreate real voltage period i think we reach the peak of plugins unless computers built in transformers and tube and circuitry it wont be close just different close

Unfortunately, digital plugins are just programed numbers, no dimension (no back just front) 😉

the harwere feels alive the plugin feels dead similar only at desivel levels I think the harwere gives it soul whether it is compressor or eq and the plugin only imitates the harwere how the play station emulates reality
