How to stop Android from adding new apps to the Home screen

Tired of deleting app icons from your Home screen after installation on your Android device? Here's how to disable it.

How to stop new apps from being added to your home screen on Android Oreo |
Navigate to your Android device’s home screen
Locate a blank section of the display and long press on it
Three options will appear. Tap on Home Settings
Toggle the switch off (so that it’s grayed out) next to Add Icon to Home screen

This wont work all the time. Android developers can create shortcuts using Intents.
