Violence Against the Earth is Violence Against Women & Girls

To align with the priority theme of CSW66, Achieving gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls in the context of climate change, environmental and disaster risk reduction policies and programmes; NGO CSW/NY’s monthly meetings are addressing the intersections of the climate crisis and gender equality topics.

In recognition of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women on 25 November, our November Monthly Meeting, Violence Against the Earth is Violence Against Women & Girls, tackles the intersection of gender-based violence and climate change.

The program includes a rapid-fire session in which members of our Executive Committee and office staff asks the speakers a round of questions on gender-based violence and climate change. The meeting concludes with a ten-minute centering practice guided by Exhale to Inhale, a trauma-informed yoga organization.
