I hope they can still randomly add things like a big annoying weather and news ticker without asking. That would be amazing

As long as they keep things simple for us.

A missed opportunity keeping Controlled Folder Access locked to Defender real-time operation. It would have been a worthwhile additional protection layer for those using a third party AV.

Win 11 will get a lot more locked down than 10, to a point where it's just annoying if you're a developer or power user. But it will probably still have many security bugs, like Windows always did. So in the end all you get will be more annoying things while malware creators will always find a way to deploy their stuff.

Thank you a lot! When I asked I expected a longer wait!

Now we wait for the full w11 release and a malex test.

This operating system is so spidered with telemetry. microsoft gives the illusion or more professionally known as false sense of security & choice to the users,
that when you click off the telemetry and other privacy switches, they really dont turn off. Microsoft just hides it from view from you making you believe its turned off when its not.
its actually doing it in the background, including all the keylogging. Thats right kids, even microsoft admits it and says it when you first install windows.
When it gives you the so called chance the turn off keylogger, ya that.... it really doesnt turn it off, but rather hides it from view while still phoning home to microsoft
as it constantly records everything you do on their operating system.
That computer you are on that you think you own, you really dont, so long as you have microsoft operating system installed on it. That computer belongs to microsoft.
And you are the product.
Software developers seriously need to make their softwares for Linux, and NO (NOT WINE EITHER), im talking about software developers making a native version of their software for Linux.
They do it for the MAC which is Unix based, so why cant they do it for Linux.?
Many people are being held hostage on windows and they want to move on to Linux but cant because their software for work is not available for Linux.
And NO, they can not be used by alternative software as the specific softwares are industry standard, specially in the music industry.
LMM or Audacity that people keep saying just use LMM or Audacity have no clue what they are saying. Cubase, Presonus, Ableton can not have alternatives.
Not to mention all the plugins that go with it for thosse specific softwares. Its unfair that people are being held hostage because microsoft runs the domain in operating system.
BECAUSE no software developer wants to make their software natively for Linux without having to use Wine or other external

2:20 That has always happened in Windows since the debut of User Account Control - it happens when you're doing it from RDP.

2:00 looks like you are connected with RDC. I have run 11 and the UAC has the darkened background like normal. The overall look of the UAC prompt looks a lot more modernized than what you saw at 2:00 Not sure what was wrong for you to see the wrong looking UAC prompt.

I use Kaspersky security cloud free edition in Win 11 (and in Win 10 too) instead of Windows Defender, do you think is a good idea ?

I'm having issues with my windows security where it asks me to download a new app to launch windowsdefender link. This happens only when i shift to windows 11. Also there's a ransomware threat popping up but when i revert back to windows 10, there's no ransomware

There was a time one could use a USB drive to substitute for a TPM chip for encryption authorization. Will this still be possible and be a suitable substitute for functions of the TPM separate from encryption??

I have a password manager. It's a paper with my logins and passwords on it, in an inconspicuous location.

Wait to do official test until it is released and features are finalized.

I got some recommendations for Microsoft. First to add some more options in security, make windows defender less cpu eating. Two, to make it more private and enforce more encryption, Third, they should add modes like business mode and gaming mode.

Actually it was recently discovered the entire Windows 11 UI runs under microsoft edge, force uninstalling edge falls back to literally 10s entire UI.
So that probably means malware authors can just somehow edit the UI elements to run their own shady javascript or whatever

I got a question so I upgraded to windows 11 and this thing always pops up when I boot my computer and it's a load script error got any suggestions. Also I already scan it with several virus scanners.

That UAC style has been a part of Windows since Server 2016, at least on the servers GUI.

Doesn't matter how secure win 11 is, as at the end of the day, the biggest problem with security and privacy on Windows is Microsoft itself.

Are you able to test EDR's like Palo Alto's Cortex XDR for example?
