What are conscripts in Russia? In Vladimir Putin's Ukraine war, they're known as "Cannon fodder." Vladimir Putin has ordered over 100,000 more in an attempt to fight the Ukraine war like the Soviets did in the past.

New Pro-Russian conscripts from Donbas are given 1940's rifles and forced to use their bodies as bullet magnets to draw enemy fire. Conscripts are no longer allowed to drive expensive military equipment like the Krasukha-4 Electronic warfare system or the Pantsir S1 because captured Russian equipment in Ukraine war abandoned free for famers and villagers was very embarrassing to Vladimir Putin. Instead, they are forced to fight on the front lines without any training or supplies. Now that Ukraine has more tanks than at the start of the war, we now know how many tanks has Russia Lost. In fact, Russia has lost more in a week than the the British lost in 20 years in Afghanistan! This could also be another reason why Belarus military quit invasion demoralized by defections and resignations once their conscripts saw what was waiting for them!

What conscript means is that civilians are enrolled into service by compulsion or drafted against their wishes and then later forced to do the worst jobs. What the use of Russian conscripts tells us about the war in Ukraine is that Vladimir Putin does not care about human life. This makes one wonder what happened in Bucha Ukraine with the Bucha massacre. Are conscripts responsible for the Bucha massacre and mass graves in Ukraine or are they responsible for the Ukrainian mayor killed? No matter what, the world must stand up for Ukraine and sing the John Legend Ukraine song

The Mosin Nagant was already used in the first world war. It was actually designed in 1891.

I had no idea when this first started and I told someone “They’re living in World War 2 mentally” how right I was. ( I was explaining to someone the way Putin thinks)

Old doesn't mean obselete, and obsolete doesn't mean not deadly.

Those Mosin's look like the sniper version with turned-down bolt handles. The ammunition is the 7.62x54R round. The World's last rimmed military cartridge in use, it has been in Russian service over 130 years (1891). There is a good reason. It's wicked!

Snipers usually use long barrel, single shot, bolt action rifles.

With practice, a .30 rife can be useful.. esp in long open area..

Btw Mosin was used by one of the best snipers in the world - Vasilij Zajcev. I was shooting from it and it has better penetration than AK-47, M16 etc. You can shoot thru BVP with it .. plus... it's shooting well, if you know how to take care of weapons...

I use the mosin 1923 (pre-war manufacturing process) as a sport shooter and the results are absolutely fine. As a precision weapon, the rifle is fully capable and in the right hands it is deadly at the same time. You can argue about the rifle scope in the picture, there are definitely better variants.

Well, the old reliable springfields are still used as sniper rifles in some countries.
