Sometimes I wonder if that happens to people if they drink in one of those subdivisions where all the houses, Lawns and driveways are nearly identical! 😆

I think he's a tinder date and insisted on giving her a ride home and she didn't want him to know where she lived so she got him to drop her at a random house not far from her own. But being a gent he decides to walk her to the door and she's thinking shit how do I get out of this! I would love to have heard the rest of the conversation after they went back to the car! 🤣

The problem with the "she deliberately gave him the wrong address" theory is the contemptuous "Why would I have the key?" She looks at him like he's a moron for thinking that; whatever's happening was not well thought out.

That's hilarious. "Why would I have the key?".

Hahahaha I literally had something like this happen to me on Saturday night. Some couple at almost 2am stood in my front garden talking for a good 10 minutes. For him then to open my porch door and her then admit she didn't actually live here and then walkoff. All the time I'm just lay in bed looking at them and listening to the conversation with the window open trying not to burst out laughing.

This is the in-person equivalent of giving someone a fake number to tell them you're not interested.

Maybe she thought it was his house, and he thought it was her house...

When I lived in Fort Lauderdale I met a girl at 1:00 a.m. in a downtown gas station who was really drunk and about to get a ride from a group of very sketchy individuals so I offered her a ride home and it took about an hour for her to remember where she lived. We ended up dating for 8 months.

Honestly, this seems like a genuine mixup. I seen NOTHING that makes me think they were robbers. I have been out drinking with friends who have said and done WAY more stupid stuff.

Some say they are still searching porches randomly looking for her house

Brilliant! Haha!

I walked into my neighbours house once by accident ... saw laminate flooring instead of carpet and made a quick realisation and get away haha!

Either she's drunk and forgot that she gave dude the wrong address, or she's homeless and didn't want dude to know.

I started dating a girl close to 20 years ago, and the first few times we went out, she had me pick her up in town, from a bus stop or some other public place. I really didn't think much of it at first, other than that she was probably just being safe or was coming from somewhere else. It didn't even click that she always had me drop her off exactly where I had picked her up. When I offered to make sure she got home alright, she always politely refused.

So anyway, on what must have been our fifth or sixth date, we both wound up drinking a bit too much, and I called us a cab instead of driving. It had just started raining when the cab pulled up, and she started crying. I asked her what was wrong, and she said she really didn't want to sleep in the rain. Thinking she was being silly from the booze, I asked her why she would be sleeping in the rain. That's when she told me she had been homeless for two years. To say I was shocked is an understatement. Literally nothing about her even hinted at her situation.

Long story short, I had her come back to my place that night. No hooking up or shenanigans happened that night, but she was infinitely grateful to have a roof over her head that night. She actually woke up earlier than I or my roommate, cooked us both breakfast, and had cleaned half of our apartment before we even woke up.

She and I actually wound up staying together for close to three years, before both of our lives carried us in separate directions. We split on good terms, and are still good friends today.

In the years since, she has told me that she was embarrassed by her living situation at that time, and was terrified at the thought of me finding out. She was worried about what I would think of her, if I found out. She thought I'd lose interest in her for being in that scenario. For my part, I'm glad it rained that night, because she said she wouldn't have told me otherwise, and her reaction that night was a result of cumulative stress. But it did rain, and I got to spend three years with an amazing yound woman that is truly living her best life now. I like to think that my small showing of kindness and support played a small part in that.
