Owners of this store in England let an attempted robber go free. Surveillance video caught what looked like a customer browsing through The Phone Market, a cell phone store in West Yorkshire, UK. After getting two phones in his hand to compare, the hooded man makes a run for the door, only to find out that it’s locked from the inside. The shop owner Afzal Adam not only let the suspect go without calling police, he posted the video to Twitter asking the almost-robber to come back for help.

You can see in his body language and demeanor that he understood as it was happening, and knew how to handle it with love and compassion. What a great guy.

The shop owner is one of kind. Sadly, we rarely see the compassion he showed to the robber because when you extend goodwill to people, some people take advantage of it

All of my life and I've never seen this kind of generosity. I absolutely applaud this man for reaching out to help.

Not only did the store owner allow the robber to go free he invited others to come to his store and asked how he can help them. This is a beautiful man and soul 🙏🏼💗

That store owner has a heart of gold. It takes a lot to feel comfortable enough to go as far as helping someone who would have robbed you.

I applaud this man for staying true to his beliefs.

Update: wow, the reaction is crazy but I welcome it. OK, so I need to clarify some details:
1) I know that there is a difference between "religious morals" and "personal morals."
2) I put the message not to cause an issue, but to raise awareness on faith vs. hypocrisy.
3) It is meant to be a simple message of encouragement to everyone, including myself.

The store owner really lived up to his faith and showed incredible compassion. I truly hope the young man realises he has been given a second chance and turns his life around and doesn’t listen to his so called mate again

I had a professor like this. He told us from the start of the class, no matter what the reason is on why we can’t turn in our assignments on time, just talk to him and he’ll work something out. Man had time for everyone. But there were still students failing. Shamefully, I was one of those students. One day he pulled me to the side because I had quite a few incomplete assignments, and told me I was in danger of failing the class. I didn’t ask him for any second chances. Instead, he told me he was willing to let me slide if I buckle down and start completing my work on time. Even then, I continued to take advantage of this generous man, and would turn in my assignments extremely late. But he’d still accept it, and still took the time to give me an honest grade. To this day I feel horrible for taking advantage of his generosity. But I learned to be understanding because of him, I learned to give people the benefit of the doubt and to never judge. He wasn’t dumb, he knew there were kids taking advantage of him. He just truly wanted us to be the best versions of ourselves.

I really hope the attempted robber remembers this for the rest of his life, and realizes that not everyone gets a second chance. That store owner could have easily had him arrested, and ruined the robbers life forever. But his compassion is bigger than anything else. Maybe the attempted robber will learn that your friends don't always know better and will sell you up the river in a heart beat

But I will say his embarrassment when he realized the door was locked was hilarious lol

Lmaoo, the way he ran and put his everything into trying to open the door. I would have felt so embarrassed after that and the way he just stood there watching him. It’s great that he’s having compassion. It’s hard out here for many people but it’s also hard for the people you’re stealing from

His embarrassment when he realized the door was locked was punishment enough lol. Good on the store owner for being sympathetic
