Antique 9 bell Cylinder Music Box by George Bendon, c. 1890

A high quality nine bell antique music box made by George Bendon in c. 1890. The fantastic combination of bird, bee, butterflies and flower strikers on the engraved bells give this box something of the joy of a summer garden. The arrangement on the cylinder, playing eight popular airs, add to its upbeat feel. The movement has been fully overhauled and is in excellent condition, as is the inlaid rosewood case. A great example of a Bendon bell box.
