Dude your going about this the wrong way, hit fleets cargo they have everything you are buying and more once you load up on illegal goods fly to a legal system and sell I’ve made 60 million plus in around an hour all profit 100 percent plus . Just hit the cargo pods no sentinel maybe couple pirates from time to time .

Just go to a pirate system and wait for freighter to warp in. Then start attacking their cargo pods. I spent 45 minutes and they just keep coming. You'll run out of space before you run out of cargo to shoot. Pirates will also spawn randomly to go attacking if you want.

heya im new so have no idea what im doing. attacked a random ship and got intercepted and i took out 4 or 5 waves of more interceptors but they didnt stop coming, even had some huge capital size ships jump in. do you just have to run like i did in the end?

Were scanner upgrades a recent addition? I see so many unit making suggestions but nothing better than 3 S class scanner upgrades giving me from 160-500k per fauna, 70k per flora and 50k per mineral scanned

You should have called this video "How to be a smuggler" because this is not piracy. Piracy is the act of taking someones cargo. Buying someones cargo and selling it is called trading. Buying someones cargo and selling it where it is illegal is called smuggling. This is a how to video on smuggling. Its a good video you are just describing the activity using the wrong vocabulary.

hard disagree on Radiant, it's a decent fighter and can carry you for a good time, specially on dog fighting;
I would however, trade for a solar (easy to find on pirate systems) after raiding some capital ships
trade the solar for exotic, also easier to find on pirate
