[CC] Some books I decided to review. I know I mentioned Matilda and Mosquitoland a few times, but I wanted to fully review them so that I could express my holistic feelings, clearing up all the reasons I feel the way I feel about them. Also I will still be doing monthly wrap-ups, they’ll just be a bit more concise. Thanks for watching and make sure and share your thoughts down below! Also, I'd like to apologize for the lighting, but the sun (a.k.a. my lighting equipment) has been a bit moody these days.

I just discovered your channel and I'm so glad I did! I loved your thoughtful and critical reviews in this video, covering a very diverse range of books! It's so true what you said about how we often think we understand someone's experience but don't truly- I think reading diversely can definitely help with that ^_^

I read a lot of Roald Dahl as a kid, but somehow I never read Matilda. Maybe I should read it just to see what I missed.

I saw David Arnold at a panel at Bookcon and was curious about reading Mosquitoland because he was such a sweetie. But now I'm having second thoughts. Love the sass, love the video. haha

Huh, I didn't know Alex Gino is transgender! George sounds so amazing and the fact that it is written by someone who knows what it is like, probably makes the novel much more hard hitting and meaningful. Glad you enjoyed it so much :)

Although I've read Matilda multiple times and seen the movie even more (I recommend it if you haven't seen it already) It never occurred to me that Matilda was magical realism until you said that?? Idk I guess I was so fully engrossed that I just accepted that telepathy was a thing lol??

omg mosquitoland sounds like a disaster. the rest sound good, Matilda was my jam back in the day. I think I wanted to be her (which is kinda fucked up come to think of it).

"we think we know what they're feeling... when in reality... we don't"
that needs to be said a lot louder for everyone trying not to listen
