Amazing that a show so flipping hilariously funny then flipped it on it's head in the very last episode and got everybody talking for entirely different reasons. Pure class

That last episode, when they go over the top, pretty much broke me. It is the one episode that has stayed with me all of these years.

I'm surprised the actors were as affected by filming the last scene as they were. Indeed it's a heartfelt scene that the show handles well and always makes my eyes moisten.

I remember watching that last episode where they were going over the top and I agree, it just made you think about all those poor heroic young men, knowingly racing to their inevitable deaths. Many emotions happening for me at least and as it turns out for the cast. Very much brings it home as to the horrors of that terrible war. Brave brave men in a terrible situation.

To me, beyond words, a brilliant delight. I also thought the costumes and sets extremely accurate, it makes a difference to the actors and audience, I always felt as funny as this was that Atkinson and the actors had a great respect for history. He was able to elegantly and hilariously graft his gang onto very believable times giving them depth rather than making them shallow caricatures. That’s for me why the last scene was so moving and so fitting and poignant. I think one of the finest artistic endeavors I have ever experienced. Thanks for showing this

"What did he play?"
"Second Codpiece."
"A _large_ part was it?"
The look on Tony Robinson's // Baldrick's face trying not to laugh - in the broadcast version - as Rowan // Blackadder delivered the line deadpan and that it has a whiff-hint-of sarcasm ]

Rik Mayall was hilarious. Can’t believe it’s been a little over a decade since we lost him. Another classic comedian gone too soon.

genius, best comedy ever written, especially the dynamics between baldric and blackadder.

The last few moments in the last episode has to be on of the most evocative endings in any sitcom or drama show, shown on TV

The best thing about Rik Mayall and the Flashheart character is he's only in two episodes out of the entire 4 series. Just showed how brilliant he was! 😁

Thatcher period. Hugh is an MP. Rowan his chief of staff. Tony office dogsbody. Stephen a party elder. Tim is the PM’s chief of staff.
Comedy gold.

The Victorian era is a natural for Blackadder's sarcastic humor. It's almost too perfect.

Blackadder remains the greatest series ever filmed. Completed before my daughters were born, they still love every minute.

The last scene of the series is own of the best moments in film history.
Black Adder was comedy but that last scene suddenly made it serious and real : young man leaving the trenches to face their faith... and fading over into a field with blooming Poppies...

And Poppies will remind me forever to the attrocities of war: A humble little flower that could grow in a desolate land, wrecked by bombs and poisoned by gunpowder, toxic gasses and dead bodies and still was able to thrive.
