Teachers … we are overwhelmed, we are unprepared, and we have no choice but to quit! The students won’t listen, they talk constantly, and fight. This is not what we envisioned. Principles don’t get it and blame us. We end up, blaming the kids, blaming the parents, and beating ourselves up. Remember when you first signed up to be a teacher? Remember that vision you had in your mind: the students are sitting quietly and hanging on your every word, you are fostering positive relationship you are truly making a difference. Center time and independent work are the most difficult times of the day and our classroom management skills need to be very strong to fascilitate this type of learning.
