There`s no cure for this. Sometimes authorities put up boards which say "shark sighted" etc still they`d go in the water. There`s no stopping this from happening.

I'm from Durban, You shouldn't go swimming in the sea when it's brown especially by a river. Definitely not at night or early morning. I get chills because I did the same thing at Amanzimtoti . Somthing bumped into me very hard, so I ran out of the water, that's when someone told me about swimming in brown waters near rivers. There are sharks in those waters and they looking for food. That brown comes from the river and is full of food for small fish which attract bigger fish and so on.

How can they get into such low waters without that dreaded top fin breaking water to alert swimmers?? It's not like they can hide it, right? I was almost 12 when 'Jaws' hit the big screen, and I know it is an irrational fear, but still to this day, pools are about the only place I will swim, and I grew up in Michigan!! Altho recently I learned that a great white was spotted and killed in one of the lakes in Michigan, it did not stop people from swimming because it was almost unthinkable, and all Michiganders are born with an ingrained love of water. But if it happened once, the chance of it happening again seems highly until it does😞.

I had an apartment right on Uvongo Beach. Many lagoons on the South Coast which are highly polluted flush into the sea from in-land which created very merky waters. This, also got worse during storms. All of these factors would contribute toward attracting sharks and faulty nets would pose inevitable shark danger to swimmers. Regrettable the pollution running into the sea now is a much bigger health thread with thousands getting ill. My daughter almost died as a result of this water.

Unfortunately Faye did it to herself. She knew the dangers, and as a mother, should have made better decisions. Very sad.
