As a Hungarian, I appreciate the level of nuance and sensitivity he applies to this role. It’s always heartwarming for us to see representation in such a thoughtful way.

I'm Hungarian, living in Budapest. 4-5 years ago I met with Brody's mother, Sylvia Plachy at the opening of an exhibition of hers in Kunsthalle (Műcsarnok) in Budapest. I only got to know that time that her son is Adrien Brody. It was a suprise for me back then, and since that I pay special attention to the movies in which Brody plays. It was heart-warming to listen now this conversasation and I"m glad that Sylvia is still alive and could give advices to his son for this role.

in my youth, here in South Carolina, i had the extraordinary good fortune to be mentored by an exceptional Hungarian musician and choirmaster, Arpad Darazs, student of Zoltan Kodaly, and he instilled not only discipline and rigor in musical performance technique, but a remarkable joie de vivre. he also had the most arresting handclap ever!

I grew up with relatives who spoke with heavy Hungarian accents…it’s indelible and always emotional for me to hear it.

The Hungarian immigrant experience is something else. My husband escaped Hungary and came to NYC in 1971; We have since moved to Budapest to retire.Serious people with a different humor for sure. They can laugh and cry in the same moment.

If you have a Hungarian family member, please try to keep the Hungarian language, speak it, learn it, protect it, as it is extremely special and it trains your brain in ways which already enhances your understanding and interpretation of the world in a whole new way. Look at how many things Hungarians invented or how creative they are. It truly is a nation that has always undersold its value.

I am the son of a Hungarian immigrant mother. She arrived with her parents seven years after living in refugee camps after WWII. My grandfather was a chemist who spoke no English when they arrived in NJ. After several years of working in a garment factory, he learned enough English to start a job in the pharmaceutical industry. As political refugees, they could not return to Hungary. After over 20 years, they could finally visit with family and friends during the detente in the late 1960s. I'm very much looking forward to seeing this film.

He is deeply talented. Few actors working today can bring raw emotion to a role as Adrien Brody can.

In 19th-20th century many many talented and smart Hungarian left Hungary, and immigrated to US. Some example: Jozef Pulitzer, without him, there is no Statue of Liberty in NYC. Adolph Zukor, founder of Paramount Pictures. William Fox, founder of Fox film co. (20th century fox), John von Neumann, Edward Teller... just a few who are changed the US and world history... We are so proud of them

All four of my grandparents immigrated to the U.S. as adults. My parents were both born in the U.S. but spoke English as a second language. I grew up with both Hungarian and English spoken in my home, went to a Hungarian Church outside of Cleveland and was actually a Hungarian dancer on the stage as a child and still cook all of the Hungarian food. I never realized that my straightforward honesty and outspoken emotional communication was necessarily Hungarian. It sometimes throws people off a bit. I thought it had more to do with growing up near Cleveland, OH than being Hungarian. Interesting, the things that we are accustomed to that are not generally considered the norm when raised with parents from a country other than America.

Having no Hungarian ancestry at all, it's a beautiful to hear actors like Adrien speak so passionately about their ancestral roots alongside the struggles and strength of the people. Though I don't know any Hungarians, I only know some phrases and how to introduce myself, but hearing Adrien it inspires me to pick it up again.
Tisztelet a magyaroknak 🇭🇺

My grandfather also left Hungary in 1956 after he got a death sentence but escaped from prison. I never had the chance to meet him bacause I was born in 1973 and iron curtain made it impossible to get together and he died in 1979. He founded a new family in the US had two kids so now I have an uncle and an aunt there. I never knew that Adrien Brody is a fellow Hungarian however I always liked this guy... cos he looks like as my little brother...
Greetings from Hungary!

when I saw the movie I literally couldn't wrap my head around how perfect his Hungarian is in it, and at the same time how (as a born New Yorker) he speaks English in the movie exactly the way Hungarians do 🤯🤯🤯 he did one hell of a job honestly
