The last Boeing 747, a -8F is the 1574th built of a production run that has spanned 55 years. Join me in the final B747 delivery Ceremony at Boeing Everett factory.

Listen to Boeing’s current and former CEO honoring the “incredibles”, John Travolta talking about his love of B747 and Lufthansa Group CEO Carsten Spohr announcing the upgrade of their 747-8 cabins. I spoke with Charlie Trippe Jr, grandson of Pan Am’s founder Juan Trippe and many Boeing employees who worked on the 747 line with their stories and emotions.

The last B747; Atlas Air N863GT departed Everett the next morning at 8:19am. She received a water cannon salute, followed by a quick takeoff with a steep climb out. Then she performed a low flyby to say goodbye! Later, she drew a 747 and a crown in the sky!

Over the years, I have been fortunate to fly on the 747 a total of 282 times, with every model from the 747-100 to the 747-8F, from 747-SP to SR to SUD and Combis. There are many memorable ones….I picked some special 747 flights to share with you!

I started my life as Lufthansa Airline Hostess on a 747 in 1976. I loved and still love this Airplane. My very first flight was to Nairobi, Kenya. It was an amazing journey. Seeing the last delivery and take off of this majestic airplane brought back many fond memories. ❤

After Concorde my favorite seat is the 747 upper deck, even traded my first class seat with somebody in the ud once, always a thrill to see a 47 at the departure gate…was better than being at home for those long Pacific and European flights, loved every moment of every flight…tears 🙏🏻🕊✈️

That's crazy... Im the tug driver who pushed it away from the delivery center and towed it to the south gate... It was an honor and I'm so glad so many people share this level of enthusiasm.... May the 747 live forever

I just want to thank Boeing for building such a special airplane. I also want to say thank you to Lufthansa for continuing to use this beautiful aircraft and for giving all those who still haven’t flown the queen (myself included) an opportunity. May the Queen of the Skies always be remembered ❤❤❤

Great video Sam!
I would like to share a moment related to the 747 that I will always remember in my career.
The day British Airways flew her last 747 into Wales I was one of the pilots of a crew operating a flight from London Gatwick to Dublin and I had the chance of hearing in first person the last comm exchange between the BA crew and the londinese controllers.
It’s been a touching moment being there at that time, I will always remember that!

The 747 represents a new life for me and my parents transporting us from Korea to the US as immigrants way back in 1973. And since then it's represented to me travel to faraway lands. Every time I see its unmistakable profile, I feel a combination of wonderment and nostalgia. I mean, a four engine giant, people wonder how does something of this size go airborne? I miss the days of boarding 747's on Northwest Airlines, UA, KAL, and Pan Am.

I've never flown on 747 in my short life of thirteen years but I have visited the first ever made 747-100 City of Everett at the Museum of flight and been inside it as well as seeing a 747-800F for Atlas Air parked at the factory and another 747-800F taking off for Korean Air Cargo at KSEA, and I must say it's a majestic mighty beast and I hope to fly on it one day and maybe even pilot it with my aspiration of becoming a commercial or cargo pilot in the future.

I have worked for Boeing for almost 35 years. I started on the 747 line in the wing-body join area. I loved it! I have fond memories of my time on 747 and am still in awe of the airplane.

I never got a chance to sit 747 but seeing videos of 747 and the memories people had on that aircraft is simply amazing. QUEEN OF THE SKIES now and FOREVER.

I'm a Military Aviation YouTuber, but even for me this absolute magnificent beast is one of the few aircraft that leave me left aghast at how awesome it looks either on tarmac or indeed in the air. Truly mesmerising, yet such a frequent flier in the skies. Let's hope this final 747 proves to live up to its status🙏👊

For every aviation enthusiast, these are one of the things that can make you really emotional. For Boeing producing the 747 for 54 years is actually mind blowing, but it's so sad that lot's of airlines started retiring the queen of the skies. Amazing high quality video as always Sam!!

54 years of running in the production line, first wide body. revolutionised long haul, high capacity air travel, served in all fronts from passenger, to cargo, military, fire fighting and so on. It will always be the one and only Queen of the Skies

35 years ago, I was a child who have never even been in a car before; yet I experienced the amazing journey that is flying in a Boeing 747-100 from China to America.

over the next 20 years, this majestic queen of the skies took me to and from China nearly a dozen times. I flew on every major variant of the jet except the dash 8...and I will always equate long haul flights with the 747.

they will be in the skies for decades to come but it's sad for me knowing we will never see a new one again.

Awesome video Sam!
