BIKO RECIPE | How to Make SPECIAL BIKO

INGREDIENTS
4 cups sweet rice washed and drained
1 cup brown sugar
2 cans coconut milk 400mL
4 cups water
Latik Syrup
2 cans coconut milk 400mL
1 cup brown sugar

INSTRUCTIONS
1. In a large pot, wash and drain the rice. Add brown sugar, coconut milk, and water then stir.
2. Bring to a boil then simmer. Stir and cook until all liquids are absorbed.
3. In a separate pan, combine the coconut milk and brown sugar. Cook until the liquid thickens and caramelized.
4. Transfer the rice into the baking pan. Pour the latik syrup on top of the rice, spread evenly. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for 25 minutes.
5. Remove from oven when it is done. Let it cool down before serving.

Can biko be made with sweet brown rice? If so, how? When I made it, the brown rice grains were hard and had to discard.

Iba ang style mo..sabagay..kanya-kanya naman talaga…..pansin ko lang…..pinag-sabay -sabay mo lahat….pati brown sugar.., , ,
Yung iba naman na napanood ko…..isinasaing muna ang malagkit….tapos saka ibubuhos ang gata…. ( kakang-gata at yung segundang katas)
tapos saka isasama ang brown sugar…l.At tuluy-tuloy ang paghalo hanggang sa eksaktong “ lagkit ng malagkit” …then….isasalin sa
aluminum tray-pan o kaya sa hulmahang tray….saka ibubuhos ang pinalapot na pang-ibabaw sa biko…..puedeng i-oven para mas lagkitan at
dark brown ang pang-ibabaw sa biko…o puede ring hindi na i-oven pa….

This is BIBINGKA MAGLAGKIT. WAG NYO TAWAGIN NA BIKO. ANG BIKO WALANG TOPPING SA IBABAW. SIMPLE LANG AT MASAP.

Making this rn. Despite having the recipe I still messed up the measurements 😭 hopefully my rice still turns OK. I'm using slow cooker for the rice. So I'm not sure if it'll works well.

At first, the rice is not fully cook, but it was fine after i bake it. The taste is good though. But mine didnt look brown color. Maybe because i used light brown sugar?
