I feel like the reason the 2011 version one was creepier was because A) we didn't know as much as we do know about the internet so the idea of "standard creepy horror stalker finds you online" had a slight realness to it.

And B) agency. For the first one you innocently clicked a button and YOU WERE FUCKED. For the 2020 one you have to look for a famous webiste, pay 3 dollars, and stay for a 3 minute call after 2 warning calls in the way of seeing 2 people straight up get murdered lmao

I remember in 2011 when my mom was sent this. She had small a digital marketing office and one of their developers tried to creep her out, but it didn't really work cause my mom logged her private facebook, which she only used to shitpost and had her location set up as "Rivendell, Middle-Earth"

That video section is definitely creepy as fuck if you have personal pictures with your family. But it's a different story when dude is hunching over cat videos, rage comics and pics of Marge Sympson with my mom's face poorly photoshopped on her. I hope he had fun in Rivendell though!

0:53 Something you didn't notice is that, if you look very closely, you can see the man holding a razor blade as he walks out of the car. In the logo, there's a razor symbol inside of the lollipop which becomes more noticeable at the end when it changes to orange, saying that you're next while using your full name.

Way back on 2011 my facebook account is just full of "non me" photos. I have photos of dogs, mountain everest and anime. And during the cutscene it made me laugh lol.

Oh man this gave me some flashbacks. When I saw this I was studying about how to read data from facebook and integrate it into a flash game. I figured this game was a flash website and it inserted the info on a premade graphics inside flash to make it look real. Pretty interesting stuff back in the day.
