After having seizures for over 30 years, you have explained more than countless neurologists in minutes! Thank you!

That makes so much sense. I was diagnosed with Focal Seizures back in April 2019. Later on it ultimately led to Anxiety and Depression later on that year. Thank God I have everything stabilized now through Him and medication. If anybody is having Focal Seizures and is currently taking meds, I suggest you give up the booze. I haven't had any seizures since I found the right medication with the right dose and stopped drinking. It sucks but I'd rather live a normal life and be able to drive safely than to socially party and continue to experience seizures.

As a mum with a daughter with focal temporal lobe epilepsy this video explains it perfectly, and also has helped grandparents to understand what’s happening too. Thank you!

I’ve been newly diagnosed, and this explained so much for me. I’m an ICU RN and I even specialize in Neuro Intensive Care. But rarely or never do I have to see patients with these types of seizures so my experience with them is none. So thankful to have found this video to break down exactly what I am experiencing.

Thank you so much for this video. My son was diagnosed with Lennox Gastaut several years ago. We were one medication trail away from him under going a corpus callosotomy. Long story short, his seizures stopped. 4 years later, they have returned, with new activity. Thanks for breaking it down, thus making it easily understood.

This video explains so much and helps me understand my recently diagnosed seizures I've been dealing with and medically gaslit over for decades :( and how my dysautonomia fits in with everything

Recently my mother told me I used to daydream all the time when I was younger. She said she used to catch me staring and would call my name over and over saying " Tamara come back". Little did she know I wasn't daydreaming but having an absence seizure. I still have them to this day along with whole body jerks. Sad part is I'm just now finding out what they actually were. I thought it was normal.

My little brother has a chromosomal abnormality and we’ve been trying to figure out what type of seizures he’s been having and been told that it could be focal seizures, this video helped a lot in understanding what they are and the different types so I can help him! Thanks!

I dad didn't know for sure what was happening to him, but after witnessing it first hand and hearing your explanation, it's definitely focal seizures.

My daughter has focal motor seizures. She has Alpers disease :( lost her sister to it in 2010 at age 5 to it. My daughter is currently on an epi-743 trial that has worked for her for 10 years, she's 13 now...but her seizures recently returned. Came here because I'm trying to educate myself and never give up and looking for a cure. Thank you for your help on our journey.

That moment you have to look up youtube videos about your own damn seizure types because you can't remember what your nuerologist told you, but the smart guy talks too fast, so you have to slow it down so you can keep up. And then you decide to slow it down all the way so he sounds and looks postictial just like you while you giggle like a little school girl. And then you suddenly forgot what you learned in the 5 min video.
Am I the only one?

The way you smile at the end after saying "and a focal seizure can become a generalizdd seizure" ☠️

Have you guys experienced deja vus, smelled weird scents, and tasted flavors (which I do not know how to describe), and goosebumps without doing anything? Like it just happens. I consider these as auras because these are the unusual "sensations" I started experiencing by the time I noticed something uncomfortable is happening to my body. It took two and a half years before I got my first generalized seizure-- and anti-convulsants helped me "normalize" feeling "normal" again.

BUT, these sensations happen up till now that sometimes cause me to pass out. I always try to tell about this with my previous doctors, but most of them say an aura is something I cannot recognize to experience because it only seems like "daydreaming".

I found it sad that my current doctor cannot hear me out with this "aura" concern. Sometimes I don't know if it's still aura or what.

Thank you very much for this video, Dr. Mike. This helped us understand our condition better.
