That's what I love. Here in Germany, if you only think of starting this frankenstein in your driveway, there are already 3 police cars standing there and asking for some approval papers, registration and street legal TÜV stuff. But in the US? Yeah, lets rip this thing down the road and have fun :D Mooks face is priceless and kevin is getting the real tokyo drift vibes xD

The fact that the guy even made a beautiful hood that looks like it was made to be there is just... WOW Im at a loss for words. This guy is quite the fabricator. Hope he continues making things like this. He needs to make a youtube channel. NOW

My recommendation, as a long time Mazda tech, is to always purchase a RX7 or RX8 with a sunroof. Once the engine loses compression you can always turn it into a planter box.

There’s a cylinder shim kit for that engine that adds about 20 hp

So, this thing is basically a CVT Automatic but with a choice of five different final drives due to the manual gearbox behind the CVT clutch? That setup actually kinda awesome, because you can change on the fly if you want a shorter total gearing for better acelleration or a longer one for more speed.

You should make a gas cap flip option for the pull start. Just walk up, flip the little door open, and rip the cord.

I think I saw every emotion Mook could possibly have while being in that car. Fear, Joy, and Excitement just to name a few.

Austin seems like a cool guy!! What an out of the box perspective on a swap. Badass!

The builder of this wonderful machine is a pretty cool guy! He would make a good team member of Junkyard Digs !!

My Formula Student team used a snowmobile engine with the CVT clutch. There is a lot to be gained in performance by optimising the weights and springs in the primary & secondary CVT spools respectively. If they're available for the CVT you have might be worth buying a weight & spring either side of whats in there and doing a bit of trial & error.

This is one of the coolest things ive ever seen and the guy that built it seems pretty cool. Mook is awesome. She displayed like every emotion with this car.

I can only imagine how Mighty Car Mods would feel about this since they got their RX7 back in shape lol Austin did a hel of job to make something so wild and unconventional work lol

Just a suggestion, a form of vibration nuisance control that I learned from a friend that competed in car stereo competitions ( he had many, many trophies), RTV silicone each and every body panel brace and be VERY sure that you get in between the body panels and bracing. Use the plastic interior panel wedge tools as prying tools to open up any potential gaps to assist in getting the RTV where it needs to be and don't skimp on squish out, it is all the better.

Name: Mazdoo. So crazy it is cool. Consider putting the end of the pull start outside the hood so it is easier to start. 🙂

That's an absolutely hilarious build. Props to the kid who dreamt it up and props to you for keeping her alive. I can't wait to see what you've got in store for it.

The fact that this RX7 isnt LS swapped is a thumbs up in my book. The look on Mooks face is priceless. 😊😂❤

Digs and mook have this chemistry that just radiates both chaos and like 70s/80s styled high school sweethearts romance. They both just always look like they have the absolute most fun together.

I love everyone’s response to “Do you want to drive it?” followed by a quick “YES”. Then the reaction to how you start it.

Just helping out here: For the motor mounts, I suggest looking for mounts that apply to a 1975 Volvo 242. It's just a hockey puck with studs on both sides and a steel plate on one side. I used one in my Mazda B2000 build when I dropped an OMC Cobra 2.3L (almost identical to the Pinto engine) under the hood because the original Ford Courier mounts in the parts catalog weren't the correct part. It's the same truck, just a different grille and came with the same basic 2.3L from factory. It came up with the vertical Mazda mounts, not the flat horizontal ones for the Courier. Two pieces of angle iron and the Volvo hockey puck got the passenger side mounted securely. Just for reference, the Anchor brand part number is 2427. I'm not affiliated with ANY corporation, mind you.
