People don’t understand how fiddly this is 🥵
The fibre is literally the width of a human hair, you’ve got to cleave perfect cuts on each end and then fuse together perfectly each end and then seat the splice in your connection box and neatly manage the excess cabling…
There is a machine for the fusing but it still takes a seriously steady hand 😮

Привет из Украины. Это моя повседневная работа. На прошлой неделе провел сварку пяти оптических муфт по девяносто шесть волокон в кабеле. В прошлом месяце выполняли проект по прокладке кабеля сто сорок четыре волокна протяженностью в четырнадцать километров, ну монтаж семи оптических муфт. Не считайте за хвастовство но монтаж оптических муфт и оптических кроссов провожу один без помощника. Удачи и мирного неба над головой.

I wish i could do this stuff myself. I’d rather do lc connections tho. Sc is such a big connector and i hate patching them in the datacenter but thats because the odf panels are kinda weird
