2023 Ford Focus review - The Last Focus

Having owned a mid-2000s Ford myself, I've grown to appreciate the Blue Oval's approach to making cars. What I liked most was that it imbued its vehicles with fun handling and generally sporty characteristics which only became obvious when you took one of its cars on a twisty road for a spirited drive. However, Ford is going away from that image and moving towards electric crossovers and SUVs. The Focus is one of the last models built with that older philosophy in mind and it's going to go out of production in 2025. Here's why you should consider a Focus and buy one while you still can.

Thank you so much for doing this video. I waited such a long time for this kind of configuration. I have already ordered my Focus back in December, which will replace my 2015 Fiesta, and it will be quite similar to this one, except of the automatic gearbox. I am now even more looking forward to the car.
On the other hand I totally agree with your disappointment of ford's future strategy and right know I don't expect my next car to be a Ford again. But lets see...

Finaly someone explaind the " L " on the gear box !! Thank you! I just order one and find out a fews days ago I whont have no paddle shifters :-( ... but overall It s an amazing car . Thank you for the video.

Excellent review. I know older Focus models had problems with the Eco Boost engines. A friend has 2015 Focus and is on his third engine. As far as you know, are these problems resolved as I’m keen on the Focus. Many thanks.

Lovely car. I've been looking at the Estate. We've had SUVs for the last 10 years for towing our caravan but now have a static home so need the boot space now. It's a shame that the UK doesn't get the Sync 4 until the 2023 models

Mk1 1.6L LX
Mk2 1.8L TDCi Zetec
Mk3 1.6 TDCi Zetec S
Mk3.5 1.5 TDCi ST-Line
Mk3.5 1.5 TDCi ST-Line X
Mk4 1.5 Ecoblue ST-Line X
They have all been great cars but the latest (2020 build) is the best and always puts a smile on my face when I drive it. What a shame that Ford has ditched diesel and soon the Focus as they are fantastic cars. End of an era.

SUVs handle like boats, disjointed drive and lack of connection with the road ( personal experience ). I have ordered the Focus mild hybrid 155hp st line auto in Race Red, hopefully will be delivered in June / July, so just got in there before production stops
