Last week, Marques Brownlee @mkbhd launched his premium wallpaper app 'Panels' on ios and Android. Fans got excited about the launch, but within a week the excitement turned into a fuss as users started reporting many concerns about the app. Starting with the $50 dollar a year or $10 dollar a month subscription fee. Which is obviously overpriced for a wallpaper app. Things only got more controversial with time as reports of lack of content and use of AI in the wallpapers surfaced on the web. Creating the biggest controversy of MKBHD's career. People even started sharing an old tweet of Marques.
A user even created a mod in GitHub that allowed him to download all the premium wallpapers for free.
Luckily, mkbhd addressed the issue, promising to solve everything over time.
