After reading the book “Caffeine Blues” by Stephen Cherniske, M.S., I quit coffee after 40 years of usually 2 cups daily. I’m in my 4th week now caffeine free and, feeling better each day. I don’t consume anything with caffeine anymore. Caffeine is extremely detrimental to a person’s health in so many ways. I’ll name just two things out of a long list, it restricts blood flow in the veins to the brain & eyes resulting in brain fog & decreased vision. Initially after a cup of coffee, a person feels energized and more alert then, when the caffeine wears off, low energy & brain fog set in then, you want another cup as a pick up and, before you know it, you’re addicted. Once you finally quit caffeine, your blood veins open back up allowing blood to flow normally to your brain which, temporarily causes headaches. Once you adapt to the normal blood flow again, the headaches go away, brain fog goes away, energy level increases and, you’re on the road to much better health. Of course you must not be consuming junk food (SAD) and eat a real, whole food diet, no sugar, low carbs, daily exercise, intermittent fasting to control insulin and, get enough sleep nightly. Life can be so much better without caffeine.😊

Well done! Quitting any stimulant is very difficult.

Well done Sarah! I just kicked the caffeine habit too. What really helped me was the audio book by Allan Carr. I listened to the book as I went to sleep and woke up thinking I don’t drink coffee! Went to Starbucks with my partner and did not want my usual daily coffee 🫢❤

Welcome to the club. I love coffee but can't drink it due to anxiety and overstimulation of nervous system.

I tried to quit many times last year, but always went back to it.
I've been having caffeine daily for years (Yerba Mate 🇦🇷).
I set myself up for eating only meat, salt and water for the whole year. No caffeine and no cheat meals.
So I'm two weeks off caffeine. On the first week not only did I have strong headaches, but slept around 2 up to 4 hours naps for three days in a row.
Now for the first time in a long time, I don't crave caffeine at all.
I do have some sugar cravings from time to time but I'm really focused on my goal of Meat, Salt, Water for the whole year. I know 100% I'll make it. 👌

Nice. ! I've been off coffee for 10 months now. Soda was even worse for me. Now I drink Topo Chico water whenever I need that carbonated water feeling.

Coffee is social for me and I genuinely do just enjoy it. I can go without it easily, but I do look forward to my delicious morning cup. I imagine I am in the minority here, but I have no plans of giving it up 😊

I unfortunately fell off the wagon and now I am on and off this damn coffee even though I know about the risks. Yeah the headaches were so bad for the first three days that I ended up taking migraines pills 💊. The good side of carnivore is losing interest for alcohol. Haven’t had a sip for months and I am honestly surprised 😲.

Bravo Sarah !

I quit 2 weeks ago. The first try I lasted for a month. But this time will be the last. My newly started carnivore gives me so much energy anyways.
