Imagine going to Titan, looking out into the sky and seeing Saturn... Unreal

Mars aint no picnic either, so let's take care of this beautiful planet we are living on.

For everyone posting complex ideas about cities in clouds or on moons, the reason he says this is cause you gotta start with the easiest option when it comes to space travel and work up from there. Not the other way around.

Born too late to explore the Earth and born too early to explore the Universe

Venus’s upper atmosphere could be better than its surface, though creating colonies in the clouds would be more difficult than on Mars

I read an article that Oceangate wants to take a thousand people to Venus

Mars ain’t the kind of place to raise your kids, in fact it’s cold as hell…

I don't understand why we want to go to Mars. We are Earthlings; made of water on a water planet, that breathe oxygen. It's a perfect planet and we should fix its problems.

We need to invest more into space. Cox literally said “In the far future” when talking about just visiting another celestial body in our solar system.
Meanwhile in the near future we may need to explore setting up things in space to harness more energy from the sun or to mine asteroids for rare metals that are becoming in more demand. Or even worst case scenario: climate change or an unstoppable impact could mean we need a way off this planet.

For anyone who hasn’t heard it… the background music here is the same as Lil Wayne’s song “mirror” featuring Bruno Mars, which is an awesome song.

And could be that “Mirror” samples the same music that is in this clip, who knows. All I know is that song slaps and I forgot about it until I watched this clip.

Enjoying Brian Cox as my algorithm and not Neil DeGrase Tyson.

Do you think humans would have to figure out a body mod or harnesses to wear to make up for the lessened gravity? I feel like you'd get some mad joint pain over time

I love the wonder this man has for space and the way he expresses

Problem with going to those moons is the extreme radiation from the host planets.

Mercury could actually be habitable at the poles if terraformed. The primary issue with Mercury is it experiences massive solar wind, so a magnet at L1 would be needed to maintain an atmosphere. Plus Mercury's magnetosphere is suppressed by the sun's, but it does a molten outer core, and also has comparable surface gravity to Mars.

It'd actually probably be easier than Mars, but is often overlooked.

Neil said it best.
If you have the technology to terraform Mars, you can just fix Earth instead.

Fun Fact: What happened to Venus is happening to us right now! Venus was destroyed by global warming and now can't get rid of the heat. Imagine farting under the covers constantly and not lifting them up. The heat would be immense and ironically like sulfur dioxide, would smell pretty bad at those temperatures

We could float on the thick buoyant clouds that are basically room temperature earth-style.

We could have our own Besbin from Star Wars
