Here is another fine example of why I love my job so much. This passed Wednesday, June 20th, 2012. I had the privilege to seat down and have a conversation on camera with two of the greatest smooth jazz artist of our times, Brian Culberson and David Sanborn, Who's without a daub, is still alive, the most influential contemporary jazz musician in the last 40 years.

This interview and live performance of the song "Maputo" took place in Alexandria, VA, at the legendary BIrchmere Music Hall and was part of their very successful 2012 Dream tour. Which commemorate the 25th Anniversary of David Sanborn and Michael Cenbelo's song "The Dream" as well Brian Culbertson's new release CD entitle "DREAMS". Which coincidentally has the same title.

THIS VIDEO FEATURES:

DAVID SANBORN - ALTO SAX
BRIAN CULBERTSON - PIANO & TROMBONE
EDDIE MILLER - KEYBOARDS
RICKY PETERSON - KEYBOARDS & VOCALS
RICHARD PATTERSON - BASS
NICKY MOROCH - GUITAR
CHRIS MISKEL - DRUMS
GENE LAKE - DRUMS

Brian Culbertson tonight did a tribute to David Sanborn as the 5/17/24 episode of The Hang.

I was curious if they ever played Maputo together. Thank you for this confirmation 🎷🎹!

Always used Dukoff D8. I think now sponsors its own mouthpiece, but the Sanborn sound always has been Dukoff D8.
