Hi everyone! I know so many of you have enjoyed the videos of Morricone's music as performed by the DNSO and myself, so I thought I'd do a "behind the scenes" kind of video to show you one of the unusual instruments that's called for in this score.

I'm thinking of making more commentary videos using this great music, so if you enjoy video make sure you like/subscribe/hit the notification bell!

Here's the link to the full performance:

Music by Ennio Morricone/ arr. Thommy Andersson - "For a few dollar more"
Performed by the Danish National Symphony Orchestra and Sarah Hicks

I bought the blu-ray of this performance, and treasure it! Moriconne was a master, and this orchestra did it right!

I watch the Danish National Orchestra conducted by Sarah Hicks do "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly" at least once a day. Sarah Hicks is my favourite conductor ever.

No one did it better than Danish Orchestra, not that I'm aware of, it's simply brilliant.

If I say I've seen these videos ( especially the dollars trilogy ones ) more than 50 times I would not be exaggerating. In my humble opinion these have to be the best rendition of Morricone's work, yet. The Composer, The Conductor and the singers and musicians .... what a package . Perfection.

Thank you Sarah for conducting a tribute concert to Morricone while he was still alive. There will - no doubt - be several retrospectives, but you honored him while he was still alive, for which I am grateful.

When I first discovered the DNS videos presenting the wonderful works of Moiconne, my ears were overwhelmed with the beauty of music and the perfection of the performance itself. Then my eyes were mesmerized not only by the musicians coaxing such tintilating sounds from their instruments, but also by the beauty and graceful movements of you the conductor, Tuva Semmingsen, and Christine Anderson. I am addicted. I watch them all several times each and every week. My senses are never so satisfied as when I view them. I truly believe I would have been in a trance from which I would never want recover had I been so lucky as to have been a part of the live audience. Bravo, bravo and thank you to whoever is responsible for making those videos available on YouTube.

Sarah, I loved this blog explaining about the unique sounds Moriconne used in his Western genre film scores. The concert with the DNSO and you conducting was flawless and captured Morricone's brilliant repertoire that will echo throughout time with his signature on it.

I have seen every performance by DNSO, on YOUTUBE after watching "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly" They are ALL very talented people, doing great shows! But none can compare to the performance put forth by them with Ms Hicks on the conductor's podium! Thank you for all you've done.

Enjoyed the music of Morricone very much, it's nice to see how complex the music really is and all the players involved.
Your version of 'The Ecstasy of Gold" with Soprano Christine Anderson is the best version I've heard, Thank You!

It's all about having fun and loving what you're doing! A fantastic job by all in this series.. I absolutely love it and my favorite is The Good The Bad And The Ugly / Ecstasy Of Gold. (the English horn player did fantastic!) I watch that one a lot and even had me revist the epic movie. Thanks so much!

Love you, Love your work! I've seen these films when I was about 14 or 15 yo and besides the cool images of Clint Eastwood shooting up the bad guys what stood out to me more than anything is the music of Ennio Morricone! thank you for bringing it back in a professional yet fun way!
