That second match was astounding, the triple triple was an absolute killer play. Although I hate to see someone run away I can't but help feel that on this occasion your opponent must have been absolutely devastated to see 'Frenches, for 167 being placed, especially after you had already just played two other full racks. Fabulous.

I spotted that 9x right off the bat, and here I am screaming "Yes! It's a culinary term!" at my phone. I just now googled it and it seems to have some more... vulgar meanings too. It brought more than 1 smile to my face :)

I'm with you David. I play out the wrong end of a hammering because I would want to finish such a game if I was on the right side. It happened last night. Good on you!

So lame of people to quit on a game because their opponent is doing great. Let them enjoy their awesome game, and learn from their moves.

Each game has its own etiquette. In chess, for example, it can be viewed as offensive NOT to quit when loss is inevitable.

Happy that I saw fencers after you pointed out that you had gotten lucky again

Surprised to see people leaving so frequently. As a novice, it's pretty intuitive to me that you learn as much or more from losing in Scrabble as you do from winning. Perhaps that changes at the professional level -- but at the same time, the idea of walking off the court is typically anathema to professionals. Imagine a tennis player or boxer just walking off the court in the middle of a match just because they are losing!

Also, fun little anecdote: I haven't played scrabble for probably a decade until a week ago when I mentioned to some friends at board game night that I was in the mood. We played (a physical copy of the game), and what does YouTube start recommending to me? A scrabble channel. I *think* I may have looked up the rules on my phone, but then again I use a privacy focused browser. It's always possible that it's a coincidence, but if you've never heard of the conspiracy theory that our
smart phones are always listening to us, you have now.

I don’t blame your second opponent for heading for the hills after three consecutive bingos, that 160 point triple triple would suck the air out of most opponents

What’s your biggest word score in your career and do you remember what word it was

0 respect for the loser. To stop an opponent from finishing a game after playing a triple triple = the lowest of the low, only a hair above cheating.

Today, you scored a coveted TRIPLE TRIPLE. Ideally, you would render such a marvelous play as the very last move to cap-off an heroic comeback-victory by the slimmest of margins, but either way, enjoy your moment in the sunshine, because any triple-triple is extremely rare and magical.

Video needs a better title. How about, "Sore Losers Can't Take the Heat"?
