Crime. Social justice. Impact. "48 Hours" investigates the most intriguing crime and justice cases that touch on all areas of the human experience including greed and passion. "48 Hours," which premiered in 1988, has developed a rich history of original reporting and impact journalism that has helped exonerate wrongly convicted people, caused cold cases to be reopened and solved, and along the way changed lives.

The first story, such a tragedy for Roxanne and her husband, such a triumph for science. I hope Terry Wood found some peace. All cold case murderers should be expecting that knock on the door.

Huge thanks to the students who did the massive data entry work in this case. Every member of the team solved this case.

The fact that this psychopath was given permission to finish the Dexter show while incarcerated is absolutely insane to me!

That was the best dispatcher I’d ever heard on a 911 call. So patient and understanding!

That genetic genealogist with the purple hair is so inspirational. What a phenom, what a woman, what an amazing spirit. A true warrior for justice!

When my exe's house burned I freaked out and was yelling at the firefighters. I asked where the man who lives there was, they said I don't know I don't know, then kept asking what I was doing there, but they couldn't tell me where he was or if he was ok, so I just started screaming my answers and questions like a lunatic.

I wasn't f'ing around.

If I came in and found a family member murdered in my house, I imagine I would yell at the officers if I sensed any degree of f'ng around. Real or imagined. So I would probably be in similar shoes as the first woman's innocent husband.

So you never know.
I also think there's a lot of family members and spouses in jail who just got pinned with the crime. And there's a lot who should be in jail when suspicious deaths raise no suspicions. Things are not always as they seem.

I don't know what is worse, spending years in jail before being exonerated, or spending years where everyone around you thinks you're guilty. I don't know how Terry made it through all those years of people looking at him like he did it. I don't know if I could go through something like that

I enjoy these marathons when 48 hrs adds in a few older episodes from before 2018 that I've never seen before ❤

Losing someone you love is hard enough but knowing that loved one was murdered & butchered? As a mother thats not something i could ever recover from. We grow our babies inside our wombs & thats a bond that should never be broken.Thank you for giving a voice for the voiceless.

I cant imagine being attacked and not going to the police esp knowing where the attacker lives

They should’ve known it wasn’t Roxanne’s husband. How could he bowl a game, come home, slit her throat, change clothes, get rid of the weapon AND curse out a 911 operator in 45 minutes???

I don't understand miller's wife wanting "to be a good wife" AFTER he told her he'd murdered a girl! 😯 And another reason she said she stayed with him was because she didn't know if it was true or not. 🤔 Who in their right mind would not want to find out if there might be such an unresolved case in that area? Wouldn't most people want to know whether they're living with a murderer or not?!! And who in their right mind would want to live another minute with someone who just told them that; whether it's true or not?!!! 😯 Claiming to have murdered someone with all the gory details is just not normal conversation! I would be out of there real fast and taking that info to the cops!
As for the 3rd story, the survivor/victim should have realized that 'muggers' do NOT lure their victims to an address the victim can identify later! Muggers operate out there on the streets. If you're lured to an address under false pretenses, the plan is you're not getting out alive. He was incredibly lucky to have escaped. He should have realized the seriousness of what he experienced, put his 'embarrassed' ego aside and reported it to police. It might have helped save a life.

There is almost nothing worse than publicly being accused of something you truly didn’t do.
I think people should think about how they would feel if it were them, our society is so quick to judge & decide…
