An assault weapon is not a military rifle. It is not an assault rifle. An assault weapon is a ranch rifle that looks military. An assault weapons ban addresses style, not capability.

Guns aren't just used to commit crimes. A ranch rifle, like an AR-15, is a good choice for home defense. An AR-15 is relatively compact, it's light, it has a light recoil, can handle a 30-round magazine, is intimidating, and effective.
