A Deep(ish) Dive into HY-MPS3 Sequencer

HY-Plugins makes some AMAZINGLY rich and creatively versatile plugins, especially sequencers. Because of the depth of functionality, they can seem somewhat complicated when you first start working with them. However, they deeply reward your time and attention, allowing you to achieve some creative effects that other tools may not.

I take some time here to walk you through the basic structure and functionality of the new (July 2024) update of this great sequencer. I hope by the end you will have a better understanding of how the different elements work together so that you can find ways to explore the creative options in your music. (There is a FREE VERSION with a limited function set that can be a good place to start....)

NOTE: I mistakenly imply at around the 30 minute mark that when you create a new BLOCK in the Block Chainer (go from A to B, let's say), you then have a blank slate to create new sequences. Each of those blocks will only allow you to reorder the sequences in the individual color blocks. So you have a maximum of 64 total sequences that you can REORDER in many more ways...

That tour of the sequencer was brilliant! I appreciate all the details you shared.

That is a lot of information in 30 minutes but everything sounded clear and I can see how much fun this one plugin can add to a setup. Thank you for the lesson, Sir.

Exceedingly useful and practical. i would love it if you continued with this and made another video with the rest of the parameters. Also, how to record tracks with the hy-mps3. That would be so huge! thanks a lot. 🍀🌹🍀

Very nice Brad! Have you considered teaching as a career? (I keed! I keed! 😁)

As I've said in comments elsewhere, I think considering making full courses on music-making topics (using Patreon?) might be the perfect direction for you to go in! 🙂

confusion reigns sadly i can not fathom how the BLOCK CHAINER main buttons A B C D E F G H are selected other than by mouse clik?? clearly these are nothing to do with the A B C D E F G H buttons on the SEQ/ARP blocks which can be chosen via the BLK/SNP chooser in the chainer my quesion is in that case the upper set of A-H letters must represent "pattern sets" ???? if so how do we sequence
