my kids and I use to go through their toys twice a year. once just before summer, they would be playing outside and not miss many if their toys. at this time we did a small donation box for a local shelter as well as all broken things getting thrown away. Around Thanksgiving was our big go through and big donation. They had to go through things to make room for new Christmas toys. and yes I made them decide what went in the donation box and what went into the donation box. They really loved it one year when we took the donation box to an abused woman's shelter. they got to bring the toys into the play room and saw how happy it made the other kids

Kristen hi, did this, done that. Years ago inthe 60s they had a lot, but not like the kids today. I would clean up and declutter, and they would tell me what they wanted and what they would donate to other children. But I’ve been thru like you with grandchildren, same as you. My son or his wife acting like you cleaning or declutter. You did great Kristen.👍❤️♥️🌹

I am an aunt and guilty of buying toys hehe. I want to play in that little kitchen haha. I wanted one when i was little along with and easy baked oven but got neither so would so play tea time and bake fake food with the girls haha. Great Job.♡♡

I always worried about my kids feelings too Kristin and wanted them to help choose what stayed and what was donated to those less fortunate. Some things they had emotional attachment to (& it wasn’t always the “big” things) and I didn’t want to get rid of those things either. I agree Kristin it helps when the kiddos help with their toys. I have done this so many times because we have so many toys and we only have 1 child lol It’s about time to do again but the toys are fading as he gets older not sure if I’m happy or sad about that 😂 thanks for the motivation! 💕💕
