Good to know the Florida weave can withstand strong winds.

This is my 1st year using the Florida weave method...It is by far better than a tomato cage!!!

I only have five tomato plants. When I retire to the country I will definitely try this. I made individual 🍅 tomato racks using two by fours.

I'm a believer... I have it on my pepper plants, and after some bad storms last Friday, they were standing proud... the only thing in my garden that was still standing.

I agree with most of what you said. I use a stake every 2 plants, works for me.

Just made my first garden and have been deciding on what kind of trellis to build. I think I’ve made my decision. Thank you.

Beautiful tomatoes and garden there. I like the Florida weave as well. I usually do only T posts every 2 plants. The wooden stake will be outgrown with the 5-6 ft tomatoes.

Nice but I was waiting for the string part. Gave you a thumb up anyway!

I always like your videos, but could you explain what the Florida weave trellis is? I get the t-posts and wood stakes but is there a specific way to run the string? What height? How many string runs?

I tried this with large indeterminate tomatoes a couple years ago- it worked, but I really needed bigger stakes. And some kind of pruning system. Got kinda hairy.

What kind of wood do you use for the stakes and how many years will they last usually?

Gonna have to try this. Those flimsy cages just aren't working.

I am looking to do something other than use large tomato cages for my determinate tomatoes next year. I plant mine every 5 feet so that I can get in between them for easier picking but what happens is that my cages fall over from the weight of the tomatoes every time. How do you plant your so close and still be able to easily harvest your fruit?
