Empty Sky/You're Missing. Bruce Springsteen cover.

Both these songs come from Bruce's brilliant album "The Rising".
He released it shortly after the terrorist attack which became known as 9/11 (September 11 2001).
Four jet airliners were hijacked full of passengers. Two were flown into the iconic Twin Towers of the World Trade Centre in New York. Two were intended for the Pentagon. One of those hit their target, but one was crashed into open ground after the passengers overpowered the terrorists saving many lives at the expense of their own.
The Twin Towers were completely destroyed killing many people.

"Empty Sky" is the space where the Twin Towers used to be......
I'm not sure if Bruce wrote "You're Missing" as a direct result of 9/11, because I know some of the album was recorded before the tragedy, but in my mind it's part of the same story. "You're Missing" being the tragic consequence of the "Empty Sky".
So I segwayed them together. I hope it's OK.

I have two recurring thoughts when I think of this - the first is - the year before the attack my daughter was on a school trip to America. One of the highlights of the trip was to stand on the roof of one of the Twin Towers.........(I read that 9/11 was not a special date for the hijackers, it was a random day. it could have happened on any day).
The second thought is - on that dreadful day, there could have been children and tourists standing on the roof watching the planes coming towards them.......

That was beautiful Stuart. I haven't listened to much of Bruce Springsteen. Only what they play on the radio. You are so good at playing. Very relaxing to listen to you. Hope you and your family are doing well after your vacation. My family vacation is at the end of June. The grandchildren are ages 11, 6, 5, 4, 3.I definitely will need a door with a good lock in my room hahaha 😅.
