What do the cams and valves look like?
In this video, I'll break it all down.

That was really cool - I think what continues to surprise me is just how clean everything is for a million miles! Yeah, there’s carbonization, but overall? You could have told me this was a 200, 000 mile engine and I wouldn’t have thought twice. Thanks for the tour!

Great video let this be a testimony to how well off the shelf high quality full synthetic group 3 oil will keep your engine clean Mobil 1, Pennzoil Platinum, Royal Purple, Castrol, Valvoline, almost a million miles and not one drop of Amsoil was used this all the proof you need right here!!!! Paying $13 a quart is ridiculous when you can get a 5 quarts for $25-$30 at Walmart Good job for video 👏

Those heads look so good for having over a million, and to have only chipped a little piece of valve off, the thing could've dropped a valve into the cylinder a 920K and you couldn't really complain, but it kept working.

Damn the heads look really clean for a million mile engine. I was expecting a lot of carbon build up. The valve situation could've been much much worse like the whole valve falling on the cylinder. These cars like to run forever. I was amazed that the car was driveable even with the misfire

I have a small question. On the last oil change for my 05 V6 sedan I used full synthetic high mileage 5w 20. I plan on using high mileage oil for my upcoming oil changes. The vehicle has racked up just over 300k kms. Is it good for long term reliability?

Awesome stuff! How many times have you replaced the struts? If so what brand did you use? I'm having a hard time finding OEM strut assemblys for my 04 accord. Very hesitant to go with after market.

Would have unplugging both the #1 injector and coil have helped it run better and get better power/mpg once the valve broke? I remember you saying it was running lean trying to compensate for the fuel going into the exhaust, so maybe that would have helped it run better? Or maybe you did that and I just missed it.

Wow the cams look like they're in great shape! It's interesting, I was watching a southmainauto video where a j series v6 had a skip. Sounded like a potential similar issue. What oil did you use btw?

In retrospect you could have likely repaired that valve, maybe done some new piston rings and drove it a few hundred thousand more miles!

im curious to hear about what your mechanic says about the pitting on the cams, and what they think could have caused it.

You said you never had valve adjustments done in the video. No valve adjustments done on a million mile Honda engine?
