Today I went to the Venice Beach homeless justice committe to record the speech and what those people have to say people did not welcome me they were standing in front of my camera flipping me off so I could not record them speaking I try to talk to them why are they so aggressive towards me but they did not want to respond

Born and raised in Venice. 6 block from Venice Beach. I'm 50 now. I first want to thank you for all your videos and truthfulness. You have done nothing wrong at all. Even back in the days Venice was scary and dangerous in some areas I've seen people shot and stabbed when I was a kid. On Venice Beach! You telling how it is and no one should be mad at you for that. Keep up the great work my brother and stay safe.

"Venice is known for being open and welcoming" - yes, but that wasn't an invitation to come in and dump your garbage everywhere and turn the beaches into a shantytown! It is fairly clear now that it was TOO open and welcoming without holding anyone accountable.

The guy talking is correct. There are plenty of structures to live in, everywhere you go. They aren’t being utilized due speculative real estate interests, shady agencies doing the bare minimum while collecting their non profit paychecks and using funds for their own needs that were allocated to help those without shelter, and the assumption that in order to qualify for a roof you must have only 2 people per bedroom, have utilities, etc etc. Some people just want a roof. Some people comfortable on the floor, no TV, no garbage disposal. The issue is the poop and pee which is easily solvable, you just make composting toilets and mix the waste with the grass clippings from the boardwalk lawns, it breaks down over time, and you have fertilizer. So that brings us to the next problem, which is government agencies getting in the way of grass roots efforts due to “uncleanliness”. A composting toilet is clean, but no govt agencies will make any money off it so it’s deemed worthless.

I don't understand. I feel so bad for German in Venice. He's always been kind, respectful, honest and generous to people when reporting on this. This is very upsetting, I can't imagine how GIV feels. Hang in there ❤️
