thanks ... i have been itching to figure out how to "configure" packages better in NixOS so that the "state" involved in this configuration doesn't bleed into userland; this video definitely helps to point me in a direction and solves the problem for at least Firefox.

Thank you very much!
I really appreciate the effort you put into your tutorials. You go straight to the point, giving relevant information in a short, clear format.

Thank you (again)!

Also Firefox can sync everything when you login to your account. Even on Windows 😅

In firefox or any other browser we can just create an account and login with that to get all extensions bookmarks history everything, so we don't need to declare firefox in our config, it is my opinion others can differ

Hi, thanks for the very cool, concise, informative videos. Have you used deploy-rs? Is there a video about this tool planned?

Відео-топ, як завжди. Продовжуй в тому дусі! P.S. Побачив, що ти з України у відео про NixOs.

I've been clicking around your videos and find them all useful. I have bookmarked them for reference when I actually need them.

Is it possible to specify that flake build, say Emacs, from its original GNU sources? I want to give the specific URL for the git branch for flake to use when compiling the binary. Then Nix can take it from there to download, build, and manage the store.

If not Emacs, do you have an example of how this is done using flakes. Thanks.

p.s. Ignore if you see a duplicate post from me. I tried asking earlier but the commend got deleted.

So every time you want to add a bookmark, you have to add it to your Nix config, rebuild your environment, and restart your browser? I love Nix, but this kind of micromanagement of State, which constantly changes, is just too cumbersome. If you figure out some way of keeping all your home directory state in sync with your nix config, then I would be super interested. Thanks.

Is there a way to do this on browsers other than firefox? Specifically librewolf, in home manager I only see the options for enable, package, and settings.

Since some extensions are considered to be unfree, how can allow firefox-addons to allow unfree packages?
