Amen. The ancient Israelites knew that there is only one God and there is no other. Too bad they did not comprehend that Elohim in the Old Testament was the promised Messiah that King David wrote about. Jesus took off His divinity to fulfill the prophecies of God's salvation. God in spirit has no flesh and blood. So it was deemed necessary for Him to take a human form to shed his blood as atonement for our sins and redeem the world.

Thank you, Brother Bernard. I was raised Trinitarian. It was a real sticking point for me when we were being given our first Bible study. The man giving us the Bible study said, "So the word trinity was not in the Bible." I stayed up all night looking for it. He was right of course.

The one on the throne in Revelation 4 is the same being that Isaiah saw in Isaiah 6, namely, YHWH of hosts, which is translated in Revelation as the Lord God Almighty. The Lamb appears in Revelation 5 as the one who takes the book of judgment from the one who sits on the throne. The "throne" basically means "rule." In Revelation 3:21, as someone else pointed out, we are sat down with Jesus in his throne as Jesus is sat down with God in his throne. The "throne of God and of the Lamb" does not mean that they are one in the same person. There is a distinction (not an eternal one, it began when Jesus was born). Jesus called the Father his God in Revelation 3, and referred to the name of his Father, who, in Revelation 19 and other places, is called YHWH. That's the one divine name of God. Jesus is the man who sacrificed himself to God for us. A truly human person with a truly human name.

Rev 5 says the Lamb or Jesus Christ took a scroll or book from Him that are upon the throne. So how could it refer to Jesus as the one upon the throne.
