Great explanation! Very succinct. Recently, I replaced the ones in my master & guest bathrooms with the same Fluidmaster model (400H Performax) and have made a few adjustments to try to get those tanks to refill faster than 1:15-1:30. The one in my half bath is an older model Korky and works just fine (tank refills in approx. 1:05). I bought two toilet supply lines and will install them in my next troubleshooting step.

Should this not have a positive result, then I would rather replace the fill valve with this Korky model. Worst case: I will, also, replace the shutoff valves.

Why does my Korky pulsate when filling the tank after a flush

I just installed the regular white top Korky 528 to replace the original Fluidmaster on a toilet that was new in 2014. It does not fully fill the toilet bowl. When I flush it I can see water dribbling out of the top of the Korky fill valve: not bunches of water, but more than nothing. Just looking at the 528 and the 528MP they look identical except for that adjustable valve. Does the 528 have larger internal water passages? I ask because I think Korky apparently suggest using the 528MP on toilets made after 2005 to address the issue of the white top 528 not filling up the toilet bowl enough.

How does a flow restricter save water when filling the tank? The tank fills to the water line mark on the korky based on the height. Restricting the fill does nothing to save water, it just fills the tank slower.

Around 5 minute of the video, you can see that the Critical Line (C/L) is not one inch above the overflow level, while the water level is set correctly 1/2 inch below the overflow. I doubt that this fill valve is factory set to stop water when it is one inch below the C/L line. If that is the case, the installation will never meet the plumbing code saying the C/L line must at least one inch above overflow. If you find how to adjust the valve to stop water at least one and a half inches below the C/L line, please let me know. Thanks.

Help needed: I’ve had this exact model installed for less than a year. Yesterday, the fill valve popped loose, jolted upwards and pushed the porcelain top up and off of the tank. This caused the water in the tank to rise almost to the very top. I pushed the valve downward to adjust it back, and an hour later I heard it pop back up and the tank began to fill all the way up again. Can I lock it in place by twisting it? I noticed I was able to turn it back and forth and I hope to now have it in the locked position.

The instructions show the flapper installed the opposite way yours is installed, I’ve been adjusting mine but it fills up with way too much water

You need to check the water level in the toilet bowl to make sure the right water level was reached.
