Bryce Young and the Carolina Panthers are in a full blown nightmare. Just two weeks into the season, the former first overall pick has already been benched, and the Panthers entire team looks abysmal. Who’s fault is it? How bad was Bryce? And did he deserve this? This week’s episode uses the coaches all 22 game film to analyze how bad the Carolina Panthers Quarterback Bryce Young has been through week 2.

So far in the season, what team or player is a pretender?

As a Saints fan, the BY situation reminds me a lot of Drew Brees’s first few years with the Chargers. He struggled with many of the same issues with footwork and timing that you describe here because of his height and the fact that the Chargers coaches weren’t developing him as they should have. Then the year that they drafted Rivers he took it upon himself to learn how to navigate the pocket to create seeing lanes for himself which allowed him to fix the “tippy toes” issues and from there on he became the elite quarterback we remember. I think that working with Brees in the offseason would do wonders for Young, and getting out of Carolina and being a backup on a team that runs a Shanahan offense would probably help tremendously too much as it did for Sam Darnold.

A really short, really skinny quarterback with average arm and athleticism that relied on picking apart college defenses is struggling in the NFL… SHOCKER!

"Because he cant see, and because he does not want to get hit, he leaves the pocket quicker than diddy when running out of baby lotion" this should be a new slogan for paramoic QBs in the pocket 😅😂

That Alabama roster really hide Bryce Young weaknesses

The only way Bryce was “supposed to become” any type of NFL QB is bc scouting college prospects is actually a much bigger crapshoot than people in the industry would like to admit.

Bryce Young is definitely the problem bc panthers played today and they whooped the Raiders’ ass

So he's small, his arm isn't strong, he's slow, he doesn't navigate the pocket, and he can't read defenses. Why was he the number one overall pick, again?

Top 5 Worst trades in NFL history. Im not saying that Bryce Young just never had a shot. He would have just not with the Panthers. I originally thought that Carolina gave up a 1st and DJ Moore for Young. But a friend had to correct me that Carolina gave up 2 firsts, a Second, and DJ Moore 😮😢😢

Then Andy Dalton wins in BLOWOUT fashion in his first start. First QB this season with over 300 yards passing and 3 touchdowns 😂 he made it look easy with the same roster

Bryce Young is like any mid or low quality QB. He requires almost elite talent around him to succeed. I know people said he elevated the players around him at Alabama but I don’t think so.
Even though the players around him weren’t as good as some of the previous QBs, like Mac and Tua, they are still Alabama players, meaning they were still really good.
It does appear the players around him elevated him and covered up his very obvious weaknesses.
I would be curious how Bryce would have done at a lesser school with worse talent around him.

As a former short quarterback myself, Young's problems are not due primarily to height. His footwork sucks because his footwork sucks...not because he's short.

Media claims he was a top prospect because of his accuracy… Did he not have poor footwork in college?

If you look around the league, you’ll see guys were more talented, more athletic, smarter, taller, stronger, and faster that struggle to win consistently in the NFL. I don’t know who in this organization thought the drafting the total opposite of Cam Newton would be a success

Two things can be true. The Panthers are a dumpster fire and Young isn’t an NFL quarterback

Carolina Panthers will only get better when Tepper is forced to sell the team.

Bill Parcells once said he only wanted qbs 6'2' or taller, and that played 4 years. The 4 year thing understandably had to change but just to use a round number to prove my point and his. Only 2 qbs under 6'2' have won a SB in the last 40 years. Russell Wilson and Drew Brees. You'd think if it took me only 5 min to research this, an NFL GM would have enough time to figure it out.

Considering height is used as issue for Bryce, could you do a comparison in the future between other shorter QBs like Baker, Russell, and Kyler.

Drafting QBs is a dark science. You get dudes like Trey Lance, Sam Darnold, or dare I say it, Jamarcus Russell who are big, confident, have a rocket arm and look the part. But for whatever reasons, physical or mental, they struggle in the NFL . However, if it's me rolling the dice I'm still going with the bigger and more athletic QB out of college. (As long as he doesn't run a 4.8 forty like Russell.)
