Holy shit, it’s actually a good show. I read an article that said the comicbook version was a lot darker/bleak. But im glad they didn’t go with that route in this show. dont get me wrong, its still a dark show. but its not hammered down that this is a depressing world, in every scene. It’s joyful yet dark.

The comic was genuinely one of the most heartbreaking and also heartwarming, stories I’ve ever read. Been looking forward to this since it was announced for Hulu originally a few years ago and then was bummed when it was scrapped, been following production since last summer when it was announced Netflix was picking it up. I’m very excited and really hoping the show does the comic justice. I’m also very thrilled aesthetically as Gus looks actually the age he’s supposed to be (in the comic he’s 9 but was so tall he looked 12 or 13, had to suspend disbelief a bit), and they got his look down perfect to the plaid shirt and pants.

I didn’t realize how much I associate Robert Downey Jr with Marvel until I found out he produced a DC tv series and it took me awhile to wrap my head around it 😂
